Whether you're planting new trees or maintaining mature ones, thoughtful pruning is essential for keeping trees healthy, productive, and structurally sound.
In addition to fruit trees, I work extensively with other woody perennials including native plants, ornamentals, roses, hydrangeas, maples, and more. Each plant has its own growth habits and seasonal rhythms, and attentive pruning helps them thrive within the broader garden ecosystem.
My approach focuses on long-term tree health, balanced structure, and supporting the ecological relationships that make gardens thrive. I adhere to ANSI A300 pruning standards
& bring a combination of formal ISA study and extensive hands-on experience to this work.
Portland already holds an incredible amount of fruit-bearing abundance in its neighborhoods. Many of these trees were planted decades ago and continue to produce year after year. Skilled pruning helps ensure they remain healthy, productive resources for the people and ecosystems around them.
Caring for the trees and landscapes around us is an investment in the living infrastructure of our city supporting pollinators, strengthening local food systems, and cultivating vibrant neighborhoods across Portland.
